Men's Health · Testosterone & Fertility · As Seen In Heath's Video
Testosterone is dropping. Sperm counts have fallen by more than half since the 1970s. And in 2024, researchers found microplastics in 100% of the human testicles they tested. Heath Watson looked at that data, said “that doesn't sit right with me,” and did what he does with everything else — he optimized it. The Boxers 2.0 are the cleanest version of the fix: 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton. Not a blend. Not “cotton-rich.” Zero polyester, zero elastane, zero plastic.
“We optimize everything else. Why not optimize our underwear? They're certified organic cotton, they're super soft — and you don't have to worry about plastic on your balls all day where it matters most.”

Heath Watson (@heathwatson.fit) builds his content around one idea: if it touches your performance, you can measure it and you can improve it. Training, recovery, nutrition, hormones — nothing gets left on default settings.
So when the research on synthetic fabric, heat, and microplastics crossed his feed, ignoring it wasn't an option. “That doesn't sit right with me” is exactly how he put it. The Boxers 2.0 are the fix taken all the way: 100% GOTS certified organic cotton, no elastane, no polyester, nothing synthetic between you and the fabric — where it matters most.

Heath's opening line sounds dramatic until you read the ingredient list nobody prints. Mass-market underwear is routinely made or finished with phthalates (plasticizers), PFAS “forever chemicals” (stain and moisture treatments), formaldehyde resins (wrinkle control), antimony (a polyester catalyst), azo dyes, pesticide residue in conventional cotton, and the microplastic fibers polyester sheds every wash.
Here's the honest version: the exact dose you absorb from a pair of underwear hasn't been measured, and “poisoning” is Heath's word, not a clinical finding. What has been measured is that these compounds are endocrine-active in the lab, that several of them cross skin, and that they're in the fabric. GOTS certification bans them at the farm and the factory. OEKO-TEX tests the finished pair to prove it. And the Boxers 2.0 go one step further than most “organic” underwear: there's no synthetic fibre blended in at all, not even a few percent of elastane.
Two of the largest datasets on men's health point the same direction. The Massachusetts Male Aging Study (Travison et al., 2007) found men's testosterone falling roughly 1% per year at the population level — a 60-year-old in 2004 had lower T than a 60-year-old in 1987. And a 2023 meta-analysis in Human Reproduction Update (Levine et al.) pooled data from 53 countries and found sperm concentration down 51.6% and total sperm count down 62.3% between 1973 and 2018 — with the decline accelerating after 2000.
Nobody serious blames all of that on underwear — it's diet, sleep, body composition, chemical exposure, and more. But of everything on that list, what you wear against your testes is the cheapest variable to control, and the one you can change by Thursday. You already optimize the hard stuff. This is the easy one.
This is the stat from Heath's video, and it's real. In 2024, researchers at the University of New Mexico (Hu et al., Toxicological Sciences) tested 23 human testes. Every single one contained microplastics — and the most common polymers were the ones used in packaging and, yes, synthetic textiles. Polyester underwear sheds those fibers with every wear and every wash, and it's parked on the one organ that's supposed to run cooler than the rest of you.
Finding microplastics in testes isn't the same as proving they cause infertility — the human sample was small and the field is young. But heat is settled science: polyester doesn't breathe, it traps the warmth you build training and sitting, and higher scrotal temperature measurably lowers sperm production. Organic cotton breathes. That part isn't a debate.

Dr. Ahmed Shafik had 14 healthy men wear a polyester scrotal sling continuously for a year. Every one of them stopped producing sperm — on average by day 140 — and every one recovered about five months after removing it. The paper, “Contraceptive efficacy of polyester-induced azoospermia in normal men,” was published in the journal Contraception and has been sitting on PubMed ever since.
A sling worn 24/7 is a more extreme setup than your boxer briefs, and it was 14 men — we'll say that out loud so you don't have to wonder. But it's the reason a whole generation of researchers started asking what synthetic fabric does against that skin. Thirty years later, Big Underwear still hasn't mentioned it. Heath did.
You don't need certainty to make the verifiable choice. GOTS-certified organic cotton removes the question entirely.

“They're the only underwear I wear now. If you're serious about your health, start with natural materials. Your balls will thank you.”

“Gotchies are my go-to inside and outside the plane. We're recommended not to wear synthetic clothing in the jets due to melting concerns. If they're not safe in the cockpit, they're not safe on your skin.”

“I never gave much thought to my underwear — until I tried these. The all-cotton design is incredibly comfortable, breathable, and well made. They're a bit more than I usually spend, but after wearing them, I can say it's absolutely worth it.”
✓ Verified CustomerThe Boxers 2.0 — the cleanest thing in the lineup. They're 100% GOTS certified organic cotton with no elastane and no polyester anywhere in the fabric, cut relaxed with a 5.6" inseam so there's room and airflow instead of compression. If you want more coverage and support, the boxer briefs add a small amount of BPA-free elastane for shape; the boxers skip it entirely.
No — they're cut for it. Instead of using elastane to pull the fabric tight against you, the Boxers 2.0 use a relaxed 5.6" cut that gives your body room to move on its own. The cotton is knit soft, and the waistband is wrapped in organic cotton so there's no plastic band digging in. It's a different feel from a compression fit, and that's the point: the whole reason to go 100% cotton is that nothing synthetic is in contact with you.
Both are third-party certifications, not self-declared labels. GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) audits the cotton from farm to finished garment. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 tests the finished product for hundreds of harmful substances.
Our OEKO-TEX certificate number is 05.T.4389. You can enter it at oeko-tex.com/en/label-check and see it for yourself.
Yes. The Boxers 2.0 are 100% organic cotton with an organic-cotton-wrapped waistband and a buttoned fly, so nothing shifts or digs in. Elite marathoners, HYROX competitors, and Navy pilots wear Gotchies to train and fly. If you want a closer, more supportive fit for heavy lifting or long runs, that's what the boxer briefs are for.
Cotton won't wick sweat the way a synthetic does — it breathes instead of trapping heat. For most men that trade is exactly the point.
Enter HEATH15 in the discount field at checkout for 15% off your first order. It stacks with free U.S. shipping on orders over $100, and any order over $205 also gets a free pair of briefs added automatically.
S (28–30" waist), M (32–34"), L (36–38"), XL (40–42"), XXL (44–46"). Cotton fits true to size. If you're between sizes, go up — organic cotton breathes better with a bit of room. If you end up with the wrong size, the first exchange is easy.
100 days from delivery on most orders. Try on one pair to check fit. Return the unworn pairs for a full refund. Refunds carry an $8 handling fee (exchanges are free) and outbound U.S. shipping isn't refundable, but there are no restocking fees, no scripts to fight through, and no waiting period.
One exception: some large bundles — including the Closet Clean Out — are final sale and not eligible for returns. Boxer brief multi-packs, all single-pair orders, and most smaller bundles are fully eligible. Check the refund policy before ordering if you're unsure. Returns are processed through getgotchies.loopreturns.com. International orders are final sale.
Certified organic cotton costs more to grow, and third-party certification costs more to maintain, than a polyester blend from a mass supplier. You're paying for the fabric and the proof.
Bundles bring it down: the Boxers 2.0 4-Pack is $108 (save 10%) and the 8-Pack saves 20%. Heath's code takes another 15% off your first order.
